[00:00:00] Hello. And welcome back to the channel today. I’m going to show you step by step how to start a mental health block. So be sure to subscribe to the bell if this video or any other video on the channel helps you out. So basically, what we’re going to do today is we are going to cover step-by-step what a mental health blog is.
[00:00:14] We are going to talk about picking a niche. When you’re just getting started with your blog, you must choose a niche. I’m going to show you and tell you how to do that. And then we’re going to niche down. We’re going to get web hosting right here today. I’m going to show you how to do it in about four minutes and get a free domain name.
[00:00:29] Now, if you click the first link in the description, you will get both web hosting and domain name. Your domain name will be free, and I’ll talk a little bit more about what that is. In addition, we will cover how to install WordPress, how to install a WordPress thing. And the changes that you need to make to start getting traffic.
[00:00:47] If you don’t make these changes, you won’t get traffic, and you’ll run into some problems. And then we’ll talk about writing and how to write faster. And then, we’ll talk about different ways to make money while you need to share your content on social media. In the very beginning, about how many blog posts you need to do.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:01:00] And then be sure to click the links in the description to help you out. So let’s go ahead and get right into it. What is a mental health blog now simply a mental health blog is talking about different aspects of mental health. So you will pick a subtopic, whether it’s something like social anxiety, you are going to pick maybe other elements within mental health, and you will write content to help solve problems.
[00:01:23] People are coming to the internet with questions about mental health, and you are going to address those questions. Offer possible advice? No. It is essential because we are talking about the health niche. You need to have some sort of credibility. Either you work in the field or maybe, someone that’s worked in the area, perhaps you’ve gone through mental health yourself, and you’ve come out of it on the other side.
[00:01:41] But it’s important because Google is very picky about some of these things that you. So have some sort of background in him. Now, what I’m showing you right now is about social anxiety.com. This is a website that I found that talks about mental health. As you can see, they have three different subcategories or sub-niches.
[00:02:01] Now, when you are first getting started, I recommend that you write. A category or a subtopic and start writing. The reason being is if you just go over to Google, and right now, I am in AA traps, it’s a keyword platform to help you find keywords fast. So if you just write like mental health, this is a very general topic, mental health we hit enter.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:02:20] You’re going to see it’s competitive, and it’s going to be challenging to gain traction. So if we look at this, you can see the keyword difficulty is set to super hard. It’s on a scale of zero to 100, with 100 being impacted. So 93 is pretty tricky, but they’re talking about social stress, performance, anxiety, and social skills if we jump over to social anxiety.
[00:02:40] So what we can do is click on performance anxiety and see what they’re talking about within performance anxiety. So if we copy this, go back over to HRS, and you can see there is a drastic difference between social anxiety and just mental health if we go to matching. You can see here that there’s a lot of opportunities now. Just to look at this set of clients, the keyword difficulty is on a scale between zero and 100.
[00:03:07] The green means it’s an excellent opportunity. Orange means, eh, it could be a little complicated, but you can see there are some zeros in here. There’s some opportunity. There are about 25,000 searches per. Four thousand keywords just were performance anxiety. So there’s some opportunity there if you want to get up and to run.
[00:03:24] But in my opinion, it’s going to be very important to niche them in the very beginning. Now, as your website grows more extensive and you get more domain authority, you can start talking about just mental health overall in a general sense. That is what. Mental health is, and that’s why it’s essential. And it’s stone.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:03:41] The next thing that you want to do is go ahead and get what posting and get a free domain name. Now web hosting is where you are going to store your internet files. You are going to rent hard drive space from a web hosting company. In this case, we’re going to use Bluehost. You will rent hard drive space, and you are going to store your internet files there.
[00:04:00] So people from around the world can visit your website. You can get started for as little as 3 95 per month. And you get a free domain name for the first year. Now the domain name is how people are going to refer to your website. For example, social anxiety.com is the domain name, and that’s how people will refer to you.
[00:04:18] So that’s why it’s essential to get a domain name, and you’ll get that for free for the first month. So what we’re going to do now is I’m going to show you how to install WordPress on Bluehost in four minutes. It’s quick. We are going to. If I go to the next screen here, We are going to install WordPress.
[00:04:33] We’re going to get a WordPress theme, and then we’ll go through the other changes you need to make. So now, I’m just going to show you how to get started step by step. So when you click that link, you’ll be taken to this website, where you’ll go ahead and click get started. So what I recommend is to connect the first one on the far left, the basic plan.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:04:48] If you’re just getting started with a website, as you can see, there are several options, but click that, click select, and then move on here. You’re going to create a domain name. If you have one in mind, you’re going to type it in here. Like you see that I do. So what I recommend is to try and find a domain name.
[00:05:02] It’s going to be related to your niche. Now, what I do is type in a domain name that I know is already taken. When it’s accepted, you’re going to get this error. What you can then do is go back and try different domains. Now make sure again, you want to pick one that’s related to you. Click next. And then you’re going to see a green box that says that it’s approved.
[00:05:20] The next step is simply to go through and enter your contact information. Make sure that you, when you scroll down here and make sure that you leave all of the settings on but again, entering your contact information, the scenes right here, where it says domain privacy, leave all of this checked.
[00:05:35] If you don’t leave a check, you’re going to get people reaching out to you. Spamming you, emailing you, trying to get you to sign up for. Web hosting. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to go ahead and sign up and then jump back to you once I sign on and move to the next step. All right. So I’ve signed up, and I’m going to go ahead and set up my website.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:05:52] Initially, just create a simple username and password and ensure it meets the requirements. And then move on, make sure that you write it down to write it down in a safe spot so that you have it. And you remember it because it can be a pain to go ahead and get everything back. So you will have to enter in some vital information, but just make sure that you write it down.
[00:06:11] It’s straightforward and elementary. Now, one thing that I do want to note is that this part is not sped up. This is real-time. And you can see that you’ll go from absolutely nothing to a complete website in less than probably 10 minutes. And once you click submit, you’re going to move on to the next step, where you get to log in. So here is where you’re going to start creating your WordPress website.
[00:06:32] Now, the great thing is Bluehost does everything for you. And it’s straightforward. So again, I’m not speeding us up at all, and I want you to see what it takes to create a web. So Bluehost is going to do a little bit of work in the background for you. And we’re just going to click on skip this step.
[00:06:48] This first one I clicked on. I started a blog, but just click, skip because we know what we’re doing for the next step. And I’m going to tell you what to do so that we can get up and running. So click get started right here on the left-hand side. And then move on. Just click, skip here and click skip here.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:07:07] And then just pick the first one in the far left, make sure that you’re choosing a free theme because they’ll charge you. They have both free and premium articles, which we’ll talk about in just a moment. So right now, it’s creating your WordPress website in just a few moments. You’re going to click on log in to WordPress on the right-hand side there.
[00:07:23] You’ll see it in just a second. And then, we can start looking at some basic configurations. All right. So we click. And now we have a WordPress website. What may need to happen is you may need to click refresh a few times to get it to work, but. So now we have our website. As you can see, what I’m going to do is I’m going to log in and delete a few plugins because right now, it has coming soon.
[00:07:47] And so if someone tried to get to your website at this moment, it’s going to say coming soon to them, even though we can see it, this is what your WordPress website looks like. But for everyone else outside of your network, it’s going to say coming soon. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to go down to plugins eventually, and we’re going to delete some of the plugins that we don’t.
[00:08:05] No, I talk a bit about plugins later on, but plugins add additional features and functionality. We are going to deactivate the blue host as well as the other plugins that are already activated. And then we can go through and make the necessary changes, which I’ll cover in just a moment. So we’re going to deactivate them and then delete them.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:08:24] Now you want to make sure that you only have. The plugins you’re using on your website, the more plugins you have, the slower your website’s going to respond and function, and you’re going to lose out on ranking. So make sure you have a lean setup, very few plugins, and then move on. As you can see right now, I simply believe some stuff you don’t need.
[00:08:43] If you want to, you could keep them, but obviously, you don’t need this other stuff if you’re just getting started. What’s more important is the themes that we’re going to talk about in just a moment, as well as getting writing. So I’m just going to go ahead and delete those, deactivate them. And then we’re going to start moving on to settings, which you see right here.
[00:09:00] All right. So now that we have our WordPress and web hosting setup, I recommend that you go out and get a custom WordPress theme. Now a custom WordPress theme is going to change the look and feel of your website. For example, absolutely. Social anxiety.com. This is a WordPress theme. What you can do as you can go over to a website called the theme forest, it’s the second link in the description, and you can find premium WordPress themes.
[00:09:26] Now, you have a free WordPress theme already on your account, but that is limited. What you want is you want to get a premium theme, to have a little bit more features, functionality, and a little bit more control. So if we just type in like mental health, you can type in—anything concerning your WordPress theme.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:09:43] And as you can see, there are tons of WordPress themes out there. Some things we’ll let you schedule the appointment. Some articles will let you sell your books right from your website. As you can see, there are tons of them out there, and they start at like $20, and they go up to close to a hundred. So I recommend you find a WordPress theme. Go ahead and purchase it.
[00:10:01] So what we’re going to do is we’re going to click on this cart button. You’re going to add the WordPress theme to your cart. When you add it to the cart, you’re going to check out. You’re going to pay for it. The next step is to download it. Then you just purchase to yours. Finally, you are going to unzip that drive.
[00:10:16] It’s a zip drive your one to unzip it. And you’re going to see a second WordPress zip tribe. You are going to drag and drop that zip drive into the back office of your WordPress site. So we’re going to do we’re going to go to appearance where I click on themes. We are going to click on, add new.
[00:10:32] We’re going to click on the upload theme, and you’re going to drag and drop that second zip file. It should be the theme’s name that you just downloaded, drag and drop it right in here. Or click on choose file and find it manually. Next, you’re going to click on install now and then activate, and then it’s going to change the way your WordPress website looks like.
[00:10:49] So now that we have that taken care of, we want to start writing, and as I showed you before, You want to write based on keywords, and this is a list of keywords you could potentially use to start getting traffic leads and sales. Now, if we go over to performance anxiety, you can see, let’s see if we find one of these, just to show you so where to find public speaking classes.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:11:11] Now, as you can see, this is a keyword-optimized post and what she’s done. This is the title of where to find public speaking classes. And then up here, it says where to find general speaking classes. This is designed on purpose to be optimized for getting discovered organically in search called search engine optimization.
[00:11:28] And we’ve already set that up. And so what we’re going to do as we’re just going to take a keyword here, how to get over performance, anxiety. So we’re just going to copy that. And we are going to go over to our WordPress website. We’re going to click on posts. And when we click on posts, we’re going to click on, add new, and we are simply going to paste in our title.
[00:11:47] And when we click publish, this will be our, the title of our post, as well as the link to our website. So people are going to find us. Web hosting, rewind.com forward slash how to get over performance anxiety. We set this up in the previous step, just so that it’s easier for us. So what we’re going to do is we want to make sure that this is title-friendly.
[00:12:12] You want to make sure that all of these are capitalized. And then what we want to do is we want just to start writing. And before we start. I’d like to take 10 minutes to brainstorm. And when they brainstorm, I do who, what, when, where, why, and how, and the reason I do this is because it helps me flush out my idea so that it makes it easier for me to write when it comes time to write or type.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:12:40] Basically, what I do here is write down who experiences performance anxiety.
[00:12:52] And what are some common causes? What are some common causes? Now, if you take about 10 minutes to write down everything, it’s like that session we did in elementary and middle school where we’re just brainstorming and writing down everything. So, not everything you write down will make the final cut, but this is going to.
[00:13:13] Get rid of the bad ideas to get to a good idea. So once we get done with our brainstorming session, we’re simply going to, first of all, fix that. We’re going to turn these into H twos. These are going to be our subheadings. This is the heading for the blog post. These are subheadings. And what we’re going to do is simply go through, change this to an H two, and then come down.
[00:13:33] And answer the question. So we’re going to say it might say there are many types of people that experience performance, anxiety including, professional athletes, men over 50 blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And that’s going to help us write longer and write faster. The common question that I get when it comes to blogging is how long my blog posts should be.
[00:13:56] And really, how do I start writing? I’ve already answered how to begin writing, but your blog posts should be as long as it needs to be. What you can do is you can check and see what other blogs are writing for this keyword. But your blog posts should only be as long as it needs to be. Don’t make your blog.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:14:13] 10,000 words, if you can answer it in three or four, but at the same time, you want to get a little bit higher than the people that are ranking in the top 10. So this is 747 words. I would probably write because it’s web MD. I’d probably write something like maybe 1500 words, just to make sure that I’m thoroughly answering the question.
[00:14:31] Also, I would take a look and see what they missed. As you can see here, they talk maybe about the symptoms, but they don’t talk as much about who might experience them. When it happens, what it feels like are things that you want to make sure that you answer and cover when you’re writing your blog posts.
[00:14:46] So you’re going to go through, you’re going to write your blog posts and then click on publish. When you click on print, your blog post will be live. So now that we have covered that let’s talk about some ways to make money. Now you can make money in various ways on your website if we go back over to.
[00:15:02] About social anxiety.com. This person has ads on their website. As you can see, this is an adhere. This is an ad here, and someone were to click on these ads. So this website will get paid. That’s just one way. Another way you can make money is with affiliate marketing, and affiliate marketing is simply recommending or selling other people’s products and services.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:15:21] For example, you could recommend. Social anxiety course that you found and get paid a commission. Now I do have a complete system in training about affiliate marketing. It’s the third link in the description. So if you want to learn a little more about that, affiliate marketing can be an excellent way to start making some passive income because you are simply recommended.
[00:15:39] Different products and services. Now, the way that you can make money, as you can sell your own digital and physical products, maybe you have a book or an ebook that you want to sell. You can install WordPress plugins to help you sell your books and other merchandise, but that’s outside the scope of this video.
[00:15:53] But as you can see, there are several ways to make money. So let’s jump back over here. And then another common question that I get is about how many blog posts should I write before I determine if this is a success or failure? I think we should write at least 50 blog posts. The reason being is it takes about 50 blog posts or so before you get real traction.
[00:16:16] Discovered over on Google. Now, when I say real traction, 15, 20 page views per month, the more you write, the higher the number of people attending or finding your website. So, in my opinion, 50 is a good metric because it lets Google know that you’re serious, which can help you rank for many different keywords.
[button-voodoo-v2 id=”1″]
[00:16:35] Now, one thing that I did. Okay, you were sharing on social media. If you share your content on social media, it’ll help you rank a little bit faster. You can share it on subreddits. As long as it’s relevant, you can share it on Facebook groups. You can start your own Facebook group. You can share it with clients.
[00:16:50] Maybe you have clients, you can share the blog posts with clients that will help you. To grow a little bit faster. Maybe you already have an email list that can help you as well. So make sure that you write at least 50 blog posts, either write every day or every other day, so that you can start gaining some traction.
[00:17:04] Now, again, I do have three links in the description. I want you to check out one for blue hosts in a free domain name. The second one is for a premium WordPress theme, and then the third one is actually for a, for the marketing. So be sure to check out those three links. Thanks for watching. And we’ll see you then.
